Role Overview
This full-time, on-site position based in Nellore requires managing the deployment of Takenaka’s Health & Safety Policy at project locations. The Safety Professional ensures all relevant industrial health, safety, and environmental laws are fully adhered to. Daily tasks involve conducting site inspections, recognizing risks, applying corrective measures, and maintaining detailed safety records. The role includes designing and delivering safety training programs for both employees and subcontractors to bolster safe operational practices. The candidate will investigate incidents and accidents, uncover root causes, and develop preventive strategies. Collaboration with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors is essential to embed safety requirements into project plans and nurture a culture of ongoing safety enhancement.
Qualifications and Skills
- In-depth knowledge of health, safety, and occupational health, preferably with practical application in construction or industrial projects.
- Competence in Environment Health and Safety (EHS), including familiarity with environmental regulations, risk evaluation, and custom safety program implementation specific to sites.
- Proficiency in conducting safety training sessions, toolbox talks, and thorough accident investigations supported by corrective and preventive actions.
- Educational background such as a diploma or degree in safety engineering, occupational health, environmental science, or related disciplines is advantageous.
- Certifications like NEBOSH, IOSH, or similar recognized qualifications are desirable.
- Strong abilities in communication and documentation, knowledge of Indian safety legislation, skillfulness in Microsoft Office for reporting, and experience working with diverse, multidisciplinary, and multicultural teams further enhance suitability.
