Robotics Engineer

Job Overview

Join Ascential Technologies as a Robotics Engineer based in Grand Rapids, MI, where you will be responsible for programming, troubleshooting, and supporting robotic and control systems primarily using FANUC robots and AB PLCs. This role requires flexibility to work overtime and the ability to travel both domestically and internationally.

Key Responsibilities

• Independently develop and troubleshoot robot and PLC control programs.
• Collaborate with assembly and engineering teams to ensure smooth operation of robotic systems.
• Train Field Service Engineers in starting up and operating machinery, robotic and control systems.
• Maintain strong communication with clients, project managers, and team members.
• Oversee machine start-ups and coordinate installation services effectively.
• Mentor and provide training to other Robotics and Controls Engineers.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with focus on controls or robotics, or equivalent demonstrable expertise.
• At least 3 years of related experience preferred.
• Proficiency with Allen Bradley PLCs and industrial networking concepts.
• Experience working with FANUC robots (CR-COBOT, CRX, DCS) essential; knowledge of Kuka, Motoman, and ABB robots is advantageous.
• Understanding of pneumatic system design.
• Ability to interpret electrical and mechanical schematics and technical documentation to resolve issues.
• Willingness and ability to travel nationally and internationally as required.

Compensation and Terms

Hourly wage between $37.00 and $41.00 with eligibility for overtime and double time pay rates.
