Role Overview

The Research Officer will be a pivotal contributor supporting group facilitators by conducting detailed background research on vital topics and industries. The position involves gathering and analyzing insights from insiders and assisting Partnership Leads in network development to amplify the Insider perspective where it matters most. This role is a blend of research, operational support, and communication, requiring strong organization and prioritization skills alongside flexibility to adapt to different tasks.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist facilitators in managing Insider groups and interpreting collective feedback.
• Conduct comprehensive background investigations on relevant social and environmental issues and sectors.
• Compile, analyze, and synthesize insider insights for dissemination and strategic use.
• Support Partnership Leads to extend the network and enhance stakeholder engagement.

Candidate Profile and Requirements

• Possess two or more years of relevant work experience, potentially including consulting, research, public sector, or NGO roles.
• Proven track record of producing detailed and strategic qualitative research outputs.
• Excellent written communication skills with clarity and precision.
• Ability to manage multiple competing priorities efficiently under time-sensitive conditions.
• Comfortable working in a high-trust, confidence-demanding environment.
• Eagerness to learn and willingness to contribute to varied tasks beyond defined responsibilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly PowerPoint and Excel.
• Strong commitment to addressing social and environmental challenges with a thoughtful and informed approach.
• Capable of self-starting and navigating ambiguity without extensive guidance.
• Personal qualities include warmth, curiosity, resilience, conviction, and low ego.

An understanding of economic sector dynamics and incentive structures is advantageous but not mandatory.

Employment Details

• Position Type: Full-time, initial 12-month contract.
• Work Schedule: 4 to 5 days weekly.
• Salary: £32,000 pro rata.
• Location: London-based with hybrid working arrangements, requiring presence 2-3 days per week on-site.
