Role Overview

We are seeking a talented illustrator to create six essential images for a children's picture book series targeting children aged 6 to 10. These illustrations will play a crucial role in promotional activities, including a Kickstarter campaign and a special limited-edition print collection, with potential for ongoing collaboration on the broader series.

Responsibilities

• Produce six primary illustrations for the picture book, delivered in three separate installments over roughly three weeks.
• Meet the project deadline of 14 August 2026 for final submission of all artwork.
• Design illustrations in a loose, hand-drawn style using pencil or ink linework enhanced by a gentle watercolour wash.
• Ensure artwork supports marketing efforts, crowdfunding campaigns, and limited-edition prints.
• Embrace a warm, storybook-inspired aesthetic with a slightly imperfect finish, avoiding polished or hyper-realistic rendering.
• Partner with the book's author to align illustrations closely with the story and project goals.
• Deliver high-resolution digital files suitable for both print and digital platforms.

Requirements

• Demonstrated experience in children’s book illustration supported by a relevant portfolio.
