Role Overview
The Relationship Manager for Commercial Cards is responsible for acquiring and managing corporate clients for a range of Shariah-compliant commercial card products offered by the bank, such as Corporate, Purchasing, and Travel & Expense cards. The role focuses on portfolio growth, delivering excellent client experiences, and driving sustainable revenue within the framework of Islamic banking principles.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and onboard corporate clients for commercial card solutions.
- Maintain strong, long-term partnerships with CFOs, finance departments, and procurement leaders.
- Serve as the main contact for assigned clients, ensuring exceptional service and client retention.
- Promote and sell Shariah-compliant card products while meeting prescribed sales and revenue goals.
- Collaborate with Credit Risk teams to evaluate client creditworthiness and card limits.
- Ensure adherence to Islamic banking standards, internal protocols, and UAE Central Bank rules.
- Track portfolio metrics such as performance, utilization, and delinquency, implementing corrective actions proactively.
- Manage client onboarding, documentation, and compliance with KYC/AML requirements.
- Oversee card issuance processes, credit limit adjustments, renewals, and routine account reviews.
- Promptly address client inquiries, service concerns, and issue escalations.
- Coordinate with Product, Operations, Compliance, Risk, and IT departments to deliver integrated client solutions.
- Compile regular management information system (MIS) reports detailing sales achievements, pipeline status, and portfolio condition.
Required Skills and Experience
- 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in Commercial Cards, Transaction Banking, or Corporate/SME Banking.
- Experience in Islamic banking or familiarity with Shariah-compliant financial products is advantageous.
- Comprehensive understanding of the UAE corporate sector and regulatory landscape.
- Proven expertise in relationship management and consultative sales.
- Knowledge of commercial card offerings and expense management platforms.
- Ability to perform financial analyses and credit assessments.
- Strong verbal and written communication, alongside presentation skills.
- Proficiency with MS Office tools and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software.
- Client-focused mindset combined with a target-oriented work ethic.
- Excellent negotiation and problem-solving capabilities.
- Capacity to operate independently as well as part of a team.
- University degree in a relevant field is required.
- Understanding of marketing strategies, including competitor analysis and customer experience considerations.
- Familiarity with the UAE cards market landscape and major competitors.
- Competence in opportunity identification, negotiation, and evaluating post-campaign outcomes.
