Role overview
TeacherActive is seeking a motivated Recruitment Consultant to join its lively West Malling office. This is a chance to build a career in a people-focused, high-performing education recruitment business. Training and development
This role comes with a structured 12-week induction and access to a Training Academy designed to build confidence and practical skills. Ongoing support is provided through coaching from a Sales Coach, learning resources, and regular development opportunities. The company positions this as a long-term investment in employee growth rather than a basic onboarding process.
Key responsibilities
- Win new business and promote recruitment services to schools.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with education clients while understanding their hiring needs.
- Carry out client visits and represent the company at networking events.
- Source, screen, interview, and place suitable candidates.
- Manage the candidate pipeline and keep the database accurate and organised.
- Work toward agreed KPIs and performance targets.
- Coordinate with sales and compliance teams to support smooth candidate onboarding.
What the company is looking for
The ideal candidate is results-driven, comfortable working in a target-led environment, and able to build rapport quickly. Determination, resilience, strong communication, good organisation, and a willingness to learn are all important. Confidence in negotiation and prior experience in sales or customer-facing roles will be valuable.
Pay and benefits
The salary range is £30,000 to £41,950, with uncapped commission and no threshold, so commission starts from the first placement. The role also includes clear progression opportunities, salary increases linked to performance, and a wide range of wellbeing and lifestyle benefits.
Working pattern
This is a full-time office-based role in term time. Working hours vary across the week: one day runs from 7:30am to 5:30pm, two days from 7:30am to 5:00pm, and two days from 7:30am to 4:30pm. During school holidays, hours are reduced and typically fall between 4 and 6 hours per shift. After probation, there is also flexibility for work-from-home days.
