Job Overview
The National Rehabilitation Hospital invites qualified candidates to apply for the permanent part-time role of Receptionist at Grade IV level, involving 18.45 working hours per week. This role requires providing warm and professional face-to-face interactions with patients, families, staff, visitors, and the public upon arrival at the hospital.
Work Schedule
The position entails evening shifts and participation in rotational weekend work.
Qualifications and Eligibility
- Possession of at least a grade D (or pass) in five subjects from the approved Leaving Certificate examinations (Higher, Ordinary Level, Vocational Programme or Applied) or an equivalent recognized qualification.
- Alternatively, relevant satisfactory experience with demonstrable equivalent skills may be accepted instead of formal qualifications.
- A QQI qualification in Office Administration or a similar field is mandatory.
- Essential competency in Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Candidates must demonstrate appropriate knowledge, a high standard of administrative ability, and suitability for the role.
Experience and Skills
- Proven experience as a receptionist, switchboard/telephone operator, or in a related position is essential.
- Experience within healthcare or clinical settings is considered a strong advantage.
- Capability to function effectively in a demanding and fast-paced environment is necessary.
- Excellent written and verbal communication as well as interpersonal skills are required.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks efficiently.
- Strong multitasking and time management abilities.
- Practical experience operating office equipment such as printers and scanners.
- Resourcefulness and proactive problem-solving aptitude.
- Competency in managing potentially difficult or challenging situations with professionalism.
Additional Information
