Role Overview
The Rates Team Leader position involves guiding a group of specialists and collaborating across departments to achieve optimal rating outcomes that benefit ratepayers and the wider community. This role combines strong technical expertise in rates modelling, database management, and valuations compliant with the Local Government Rating Act 2002, alongside leadership responsibilities fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and professional growth within the team.
Who We Seek
We are searching for an experienced rates or revenue expert familiar with local government operations and relevant legislation. Exceptional communication skills are essential to build positive relationships within the Council and with external parties. Candidates must be adaptable to shifting priorities and have confidence using rating, property, and debt management software, with proficiency in Technology One and/or IBIS systems considered an advantage. The successful applicant will demonstrate initiative and a commitment to ongoing process improvement.
