About the Role
Join the Fletcher Construction team as a skilled Quantity Surveyor on the impactful Te Wai Takamori o Te Awa Kairangi project. This position involves closely tracking project expenditures and supporting key commercial decisions. Collaborate with seasoned commercial and construction experts to oversee budgets, forecasts, subcontractor expenses, reporting, and contract management throughout project execution to completion.
- Track and manage costs, budgets, commitments, and spending across various work streams.
- Contribute to monthly forecasting, progress-based cost reporting, and value analysis.
- Evaluate costs related to subcontractors, labour, equipment, and materials to enhance financial performance.
- Generate cost reports, cash flow forecasts, reconciliations, and financial summaries.
- Assist with contract administration, procurement activities, and authorizing payment certifications.
- Maintain precise commercial documentation and reports within project management software.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will have completed tertiary education in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Engineering, or related fields, paired with approximately five or more years' experience in quantity surveying, commercial roles, or contract administration. A sound knowledge of construction contracts, subcontract coordination, and controlling project expenses is essential. Experience with NZS3910 standards, alliance and target cost contracts, or similar models is required. Proficiency in CCS Candy software and advanced Excel capabilities are necessary to navigate commercial reporting and cost tracking systems effectively. The role demands keen attention to detail, sound decision-making skills, and the ability to foster productive relationships within project teams.

The Te Awa Kairangi Alliance is enhancing transport options, including walking and cycling infrastructure, at the SH2 Melling interchange and adjacent rail station, contributing to flood protection and urban renewal efforts. Fletcher Construction partners with AECOM, the NZ Transport Agency, Taranaki Whānui, and Ngāti Toa Rangatira on this significant programme.
