Quantity Surveyor

About the Role

Fawkes & Reece are partnering with a regional contractor specializing in commercial interior shopfitting, specifically within retail, hospitality, commercial, and leisure environments. They focus on upholding superior client service standards and meticulous attention to detail to consistently deliver high-quality projects.

As a Quantity Surveyor, your primary responsibility will be to manage refurbishment and fit out projects predominantly in restaurants, bars, and hotels, with project values typically from £50,000 up to £4 million.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead price negotiations and obtain quotations for work, materials, and plant items ensuring adherence to company policies.
• Verify invoice details from all suppliers to ensure value for money on every job.
• Develop and maintain strong client relationships to guarantee transparent communication and clear expectations regarding invoicing.
• Prepare and deliver regular, accurate cost and valuation reports.
• Oversee commercial aspects of subcontracts, including obtaining quotations, evaluating tender returns, assessing subcontract work valuations and payments, and finalizing subcontract accounts, all in line with commercial procedures.

Requirements

• Possession of a relevant degree or professional qualifications in quantity surveying.
• Experience handling multiple projects simultaneously.
• Demonstrated ability to establish and nurture client relationships.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong organizational, planning, prioritization, and project management capabilities.
