Quality Control Manager - Fit-Out

Job Overview

The QC Manager for Fit-Out projects plays a vital role in setting and maintaining high quality standards throughout interior fit-out undertakings, ensuring that all activities align with approved designs, technical specifications, inspection test plans (ITPs), regulatory requirements, and client expectations.

Key Duties

• Develop, apply, and sustain the Project Quality Plan (PQP) tailored for fit-out works.
• Ensure strict adherence to ISO 9001 Quality Management System standards.
• Create and implement ITPs, method statements, checklists, and quality-related procedures suitable for fit-out operations.
• Carry out frequent site reviews to verify conformity with approved drawings, mock-ups, samples, and specifications.
• Oversee quality control of joinery, finishes, flooring, ceilings, wall treatments, furniture, and MEP coordination.
• Guarantee the correct use of authorized materials and finishes.
• Liaise with consultants and clients for inspections and approvals.
• Manage various inspection requests and snagging processes, including WIRs, MIRs, IRs, and punch lists.
• Address and close non-conformance reports (NCRs), observations, and punch items within specified deadlines.
• Assess and approve material submittals, samples, and shop drawings from quality perspectives.
• Evaluate subcontractor quality performance and regulatory compliance.
• Conduct factory inspections of joinery and customized items when needed.
• Ensure projects are free from defects before handover.
• Coordinate final site inspections, government authority approvals, and prepare as-built documentation.
• Support the management of defects liability period (DLP) and resolve quality-related concerns post-handover.
• Prepare detailed quality reports, management dashboards, and document lessons learned.
• Identify recurring quality challenges and implement corrective measures.
• Provide training to project teams on quality standards and best practices.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, or Construction Management.
• Over 20 years of professional experience specifically in interior fit-out projects.
• Demonstrated strong experience working on consultant-led projects within the UAE.
• Proven background in high-end commercial, hospitality, retail, or residential fit-out sectors.

Skills and Certifications

• Comprehensive understanding of fit-out materials, finishes, workmanship quality, and tolerance requirements.
• Excellent knowledge of QA/QC documentation and procedural standards.
• Superior coordination and communication capabilities.
• Attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient in AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, and document management systems.
• ISO 9001 Lead Auditor certification is required.

Additional Information

• Experience with Grade A office buildings, luxury hospitality projects, or bespoke joinery is highly valued.
