Quality Assurance Automation Engineer

About the Role

We are seeking an accomplished Quality Assurance (QA) Automation Engineer to join our growing remote team in India. Key Responsibilities

• Comprehend product objectives to inform and design robust test strategies.
• Create, execute, and maintain test cases for multi-platform applications, ensuring comprehensive coverage.
• Utilize a variety of testing methodologies, including functional, regression, integration, smoke, sanity, exploratory, and usability testing.
• Document and report software defects with supporting evidence such as screenshots and logs, and work closely with development to clarify expected behaviors and troubleshoot issues.
• Verify bug fixes, conduct regression checks, and validate release readiness against defined quality benchmarks.
• Analyze logs and user feedback to investigate symptoms, pinpoint root causes, and suggest corrective actions.
• Prepare and revise QA documentation including test plans, reports, and release assessments.
• Actively participate in improving QA workflows, tools, and testing frameworks as the organization evolves.
• Communicate progress, risks, and blockers effectively in a distributed and remote-first environment.
• Travel occasionally (10%–20%) for work events such as conferences, meetings, and trainings.

Required Qualifications

• A minimum of 4 years’ experience in a software testing or QA engineering role.
• Demonstrated proficiency testing desktop, web, and mobile applications.
• Comprehensive understanding of quality assurance principles, test design techniques, defect management, and Agile software development lifecycle.
• Skilled in using QA and bug tracking tools such as Jira, TestRail, Zephyr, or Azure DevOps.
• Ability to identify workflow gaps, edge cases, system inconsistencies, and user experience issues.
• Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to analyze logs and work collaboratively with engineering teams.
• Clear communication abilities, both written and spoken, to articulate test outcomes and quality-related matters.
• Comfortable operating independently and managing priorities remotely.
• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or equivalent experience.

Preferred Skills

• Familiarity with API testing tools (e.g., Postman, Swagger).
• Basic SQL knowledge for database checks.
• Exposure to automation frameworks such as Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, or Appium.
• Understanding of performance, load, or security testing concepts.
• Experience working in remote, international, or startup teams.
• Previous client-facing support or demo participation is advantageous.
• Working understanding of Git or other version control systems.
