Job Overview
We seek a Purchase Manager with substantial experience in the PCD Pharma sector to oversee procurement of pharmaceutical and packaging materials, ensuring timely, cost-effective sourcing while fostering strong supplier relationships.
Primary Responsibilities
- Oversee the complete procurement cycle for pharmaceutical products and packaging supplies.
- Identify, assess, and cultivate dependable vendors and manufacturers.
- Solicit quotes, evaluate prices, negotiate terms, and complete purchase orders.
- Ensure timely acquisitions to prevent stock shortages and production interruptions.
- Maintain and develop vendor relationships and onboard new suppliers as needed.
- Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, Warehouse, Accounts, and Production teams regarding procurement needs.
- Monitor inventory levels and plan purchasing activities accordingly.
- Guarantee product quality and adherence to regulatory standards during sourcing.
- Track orders and coordinate with vendors to ensure timely delivery.
- Address vendor-related challenges involving quality, pricing, delivery, and record-keeping.
- Prepare detailed reports on purchases, vendor performance, and procurement management information systems.
- Manage procurement costs effectively while maintaining high-quality standards.
- Keep accurate documentation including purchase records, agreements, and invoices.
- Stay informed on market trends, price volatility, and new pharmaceutical offerings.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy, Science, Commerce, Business Administration, or related fields.
- Minimum of 3 to 4 years experience in pharmaceutical procurement within the PCD Pharma domain is mandatory.
- Comprehensive understanding of pharmaceutical purchasing processes, including medicines and packaging.
- Proven ability in vendor management and inventory control.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient with MS Excel, MS Office, ERP, and procurement software tools.
- Capability to perform under pressure and meet strict procurement timelines.
