Role Overview

This position involves delivering professional prosecution services, including providing legal counsel to Queensland Police Service members regarding cases before the Magistrates, Children's, and Coroners Courts. Located at the satellite office in Beaudesert within the Beenleigh Magistrates Court District, the role offers extensive experience across a wide range of criminal matters in the Magistrates Court, fostering advanced prosecutorial skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver prosecution services within the designated area of responsibility.
• Represent the Queensland Police Service and its personnel in matters related to its functions and in court proceedings before the Magistrates, Children's, and Coroners Courts.
• Offer legal advice concerning court procedures and processes relevant to the role.
• Oversee the preparation and quality of police briefs of evidence to ensure they meet the highest standards.
• Engage and collaborate with Queensland Police Service members, legal professionals, government bodies, and community stakeholders to establish productive working relationships and achieve effective policing results.
• Assess environmental factors impacting the work area and contribute actively to legal research, forming arguments, submissions, opinions, and advice.
• Maintain exemplary performance standards and professional conduct in everyday duties.

Role Requirements

• Mandatory admission or eligibility for immediate admission, or entitlement to practise law as a legal practitioner in Queensland.
