Role Overview
The Project Manager will lead and coordinate the planning and execution of projects within the Design & Technical Services department. Reporting directly to the Project & Design Director, this position oversees the full lifecycle of hospitality development, renovation, and capital projects. Ensuring adherence to brand standards, technical specifications, quality expectations, and budget limits is critical. The role involves managing collaboration among owners, consultants, and internal teams throughout all project stages.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage multiple hotel projects including new constructions, conversions, and renovations across various brands and geographic locations.
- Lead strategic, cross-functional projects ensuring compliance with technical standards, brand guidelines, and operational needs.
- Maintain project documentation, approvals, and provide progress reports regularly.
- Develop detailed project plans, budgets, and schedules; actively monitor progress while anticipating and mitigating risks or deviations.
- Review all project documentation such as drawings, specifications, and submittals for adherence to departmental standards.
- Coordinate site visits and inspections to verify design intent and construction quality and lead testing, commissioning, and defect snagging procedures.
- Serve as the main liaison between internal teams and external stakeholders, facilitating communication and cooperation.
- Prepare and present project updates and reports to senior management, ensuring transparency throughout all phases.
- Manage project budgets, forecasts, risk mitigation efforts, and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Implement quality assurance procedures, track key performance indicators, and conduct post-project evaluations to apply lessons learned.
Educational and Professional Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline; Master's degree preferred.
- Project Management certification is advantageous.
- At least 7 years of relevant experience managing complex projects, ideally within hospitality or service sectors.
