About the Role
We are inviting applications for a seasoned Project Director skilled in civil engineering to oversee and execute road infrastructure projects. This leadership role demands adherence to stringent engineering and technical quality benchmarks.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the complete project lifecycle of road infrastructure initiatives, ensuring the highest standards in engineering and technical execution.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary teams and maintain productive engagements with government bodies and essential stakeholders.
- Manage the planning, design, construction, and quality assurance phases on projects involving new road construction, road widening, rehabilitation, and maintenance.
- Supervise the development and installation of stormwater drainage systems and traffic safety measures including road markings, signage, and directional aids.
- Oversee contract administration conforming to FIDIC guidelines and apply rigorous project risk and quality management practices alongside fiscal monitoring and reporting.
Candidate Requirements
- Possess a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or an equivalent qualification from an accredited institution.
- Bring at least 20 years of civil engineering experience with a focus on road infrastructure projects.
- Have a minimum of 12 years in leadership roles such as Project Manager or Project Director on sizable road projects.
- Active membership in a professional engineering organization that offers recognized accreditation.
- Hold PMI certifications including PMP and PMI-RMP.
- Exhibit exceptional technical and financial reporting capabilities with a track record in progress monitoring and control.
- Demonstrate expertise managing earthworks, embankments, asphalt paving, stormwater drainage construction, traffic safety enhancements, and contract administration under FIDIC.
Project Scope
- Managing construction of new roadways.
- Overseeing road widening, rehabilitation, and maintenance operations.
- Supervising construction of bridges and culverts integral to road networks.
- Implementing traffic and road safety improvements.
- Executing stormwater drainage network projects.
