About the Company
Qatar Fabrication Company (QFAB) is seeking a Project Cost Controller based in Doha, Qatar. Preference will be given to Qatari candidates. The position is located in Ras Laffan, Al Khor, and Al Thakhira, Qatar.
Primary Responsibilities
- Develop and establish comprehensive project budgets, forecasts, cost controls, and reporting mechanisms.
- Collaborate closely with the project team, autonomously implementing cost control processes, best practices, and conducting cost analyses for the assigned project.
- Create the Cost Breakdown Structure (CBS) aligned with the approved project scope and Work Breakdown Structure (WBS).
- Allocate project budgets accurately and establish control budgets for equipment, material purchase orders, subcontracts, fabrication activities, fabrication management teams, and supporting disciplines.
- Assist in implementing project-specific cost control systems based on company standards and project management team requirements, including maintaining cost databases and reporting templates.
- Analyze cost reports, identify concerns, and communicate cost performance, risks, and opportunities regularly to project management.
- Prepare and review the Estimate at Completion (EAC) forecasts based on remaining work scope, expenditures incurred, and project commitments.
- Establish and uphold change management procedures consistent with QFAB's approved guidelines.
- Prepare and submit monthly progress invoices to clients through requisite approvals.
- Provide project data to support accounting functions and revenue recognition.
- Support the Lead Cost Engineer as required.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in finance, engineering, or a related discipline.
- Between 3 to 6 years of relevant experience, preferably in the oil and gas sector.
- Exposure to offshore projects and fabrication activities.
