Production Manager (Internal Assignment/Project Hire)

About the Role & Team

Disney Live Entertainment crafts and produces immersive entertainment experiences across Disney parks, resorts, cruise ships, and global venues. This multidisciplinary team includes technical directors, writers, lighting designers, choreographers, cosmetologists, and music producers who collaboratively bring magical worlds to life through technical skill, performance excellence, and creativity.

As a Production Manager, you will oversee the production lifecycle and financial outcomes of assigned projects from start to finish. Your role includes aiding creative integrity while ensuring efficiency and operational reliability. Responsibilities encompass scope development, budget estimating and tracking, procurement, contracting, scheduling, and managing project deliverables.

Reporting to an Executive Producer Manager – Costume Production, this full-time position is an internal assignment or project hire without guaranteed permanent placement.

Responsibilities

• Advise and plan production teams on best practices and quality standards, liaising with clients and partners to fulfill all Disney Live Entertainment components.
• Build strong partnerships with producers, show directors, technical and costume teams, and other stakeholders to meet project objectives.
• Work closely with contract administrators and procurement to monitor expenses, manage budgets and job authorizations, and ensure compliance with financial policies.
• Implement operational strategies within production workflows, serving as communication liaison among internal and external clients and other business lines affected by the project.
• Support and guide costumers and cosmetology managers on assigned projects.
• Promote a culture of safety, environmental awareness, inclusion, and corporate initiatives to enhance guest and cast member experiences and drive business success.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Minimum five years’ leadership experience in live theatrical show production, live event production, technical roles, or stage management.
• Expertise in creating zero-based budgets, forecasting labor and operating expenses, and managing detailed financial reporting.
• Strong conflict resolution skills combined with team-building and collaborative abilities.
• Ability to work independently and thrive within a dynamic, creative team environment, contributing unique perspectives.
• Proficient in delegation and negotiation.
• Capable of initiating, organizing, and completing multiple concurrent tasks within deadlines.
• Analytical mindset and administration skills to identify and implement process improvements.
• Comfortable providing and receiving candid, constructive feedback.
• Willingness to work weekends, holidays, and night shifts.
• Open to traveling domestically and internationally as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with entertainment industry unions or associations.

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor’s degree in Theater, Design, Entertainment, Event or Project Management or related fields preferred.

The salary range for this Florida-based position is $83,000 to $111,200 annually, with actual offers reflecting internal equity and candidate qualifications. Additional compensation such as bonuses or long-term incentives may also be included.
