Position Overview
The Procurement Manager will lead the procurement department, ensuring the efficient, timely, and budget-conscious acquisition of materials, equipment, and services essential for company projects and operations. This role involves crafting procurement strategies, supplier management, negotiation of contracts, and aligning procurement activities with the company's objectives and compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Establish and execute procurement strategies that align with organizational goals.
- Oversee the complete procurement cycle including supplier identification, request for quotations/proposals, tender management, negotiations, purchasing, and contract administration.
- Evaluate and select suppliers based on cost-effectiveness, quality, reliability, and delivery performance.
- Negotiate commercial conditions and pricing to obtain optimal value.
- Maintain strategic, long-term supplier relationships and partnerships.
- Monitor supplier performance and initiate improvements where necessary.
- Coordinate with departments such as Operations, PMO, Finance, and Warehouse to forecast procurement needs and ensure material availability.
- Manage inventory levels to reduce shortages and prevent overstocking.
- Ensure adherence to company procurement policies, internal controls, and legal requirements.
- Stay informed on market trends, price variations, and supplier risk factors to guide procurement decisions.
- Manage procurement budgets, identify cost-saving opportunities without sacrificing quality.
- Prepare detailed procurement reports, KPIs, spend analyses, and documentation for audit purposes.
- Lead and develop the procurement team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.
- Perform additional procurement and supply chain duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Engineering, Economics, or related discipline.
- At least 5 years’ professional experience in procurement or supply chain functions, including a minimum of 2 years in a leadership role.
- Experience in telecommunications, construction, engineering, or infrastructure projects is highly preferable.
- Comprehensive knowledge of procurement, strategic sourcing, supplier management, and contract negotiation techniques.
- Proficient in preparing and managing tenders, RFQs, purchase orders, and agreements.
- Familiarity with ERP systems and procurement software; Microsoft Dynamics experience is advantageous.
- Strong commercial insight and negotiation skills.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving capabilities.
- Demonstrated leadership and ability to manage stakeholder relationships.
- Capacity to juggle multiple tasks and meet deadlines under pressure.
- Proficient English communication skills, both written and spoken.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
