About the Role

The Process Plant Coordinator reports to the Superintendent and is responsible for overseeing all equipment activities within the process plant and classification operations, from the crushed ore stockpile through to the flotation surge tanks. This role ensures reliable and efficient operation of plant equipment to meet and exceed production targets while maintaining operational sustainability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the accountable equipment owner for plant classification and processing, ensuring adherence to operating procedures, systems, and guidelines to optimize production and minimize costs.
  • Comply with Zambian Mining Regulations and site HSE standards, including investigating safety and environmental incidents related to equipment and implementing corrective actions.
  • Lead daily and weekly operational execution and optimization efforts, supervising plant operations to maximize utilization and performance according to defined KPIs such as plant availability, milling, flotation, crushing throughput, and product quality.
  • Oversee equipment status monitoring, performance reporting, and corrective measures implementation, issuing daily operating instructions to shift teams.
  • Participate in shift supervisor handover meetings, challenge operational compliance, and support the shift teams in immediate equipment performance while focusing on optimization.
  • Conduct daily field inspections to maintain high equipment reliability and drive improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with maintenance, planning, engineering, and operations teams to diagnose defects, approve work requests, and develop equipment maintenance plans and capital projects.
  • Coach and mentor supervisory and operational staff to uphold high operating standards and contribute to budgeting and cost control efforts.

Qualifications and Experience

  • At least 7 years of direct experience in operational roles within milling circuits and a minimum of 5 years in a supervisory capacity.
  • Substantial experience working in large, complex base metals processing plants, preferably involving copper and gold circuits.
  • Grade 12 certificate verified by ZAQA is required.
  • Fluency in English with strong communication skills.
  • Proven ability to analyze metallurgical and equipment data, coordinate multidisciplinary teams, and manage both short-term and long-term operational challenges.
