Opportunity
A rapidly expanding engineering and deep-tech business is hiring a Private Equity M&A Analyst for a permanent role that can be done fully remotely from within the UK. The package includes a salary of £90,000 to £120,000 per year, depending on experience, along with additional benefits.
Role summary
This is a high-trust, high-ownership position for someone with strong deal experience who has worked in private equity or a corporate transactions setting and is looking for a fresh challenge. The company’s growth plan depends heavily on the success of its acquisition strategy over the next 2 to 3 years.
You will work directly with the founders and senior leadership team and take ownership of workstreams from initial target screening through due diligence, modelling, and support on acquisition and integration decisions.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and maintain detailed financial models, including LBO, valuation, return, and consolidation models to support buy-and-build decisions.
- Support active M&A processes end to end, from identifying targets and making outreach to handling information requests, managing data rooms, and tracking deal timelines.
- Own diligence activities and coordinate financial, commercial, legal, and operational reviews with both external advisers and internal stakeholders.
- Prepare investment committee papers, transaction summaries, and value-creation plans, while analysing target businesses and estimating operational synergies.
- Monitor market activity and sector trends to originate, rank, and track new opportunities for the pipeline.
- Contribute to post-acquisition integration planning and follow the ongoing financial and operational performance of acquired businesses.
Candidate profile
The ideal candidate will bring at least 4 years of experience in private equity, M&A, corporate finance advisory, transaction services, or a similar corporate development role with substantial deal exposure. Experience with roll-up or buy-and-build strategies would be a strong advantage.
You should be highly skilled in financial modelling and analysis, with strong capability in LBO, returns analysis, and corporate valuation. You’ll also need practical experience reviewing financial and commercial information and running multi-stream diligence processes.
Strong commercial judgment, accountability, and the ability to work independently in a fast-moving environment are important. The role also requires excellent communication skills for influencing senior stakeholders.
Qualifications
A degree in finance, economics, accounting, or a related subject is required. Progress toward CFA, ACA, or ACCA is welcome but not mandatory.
Why this role stands out
- Join early in a fast-scaling business with an ambitious acquisition agenda.
- Gain direct access to founders and executive leadership from day one.
- Work across the full transaction lifecycle, from origination and modelling to execution and integration.
- Enjoy the flexibility of a fully remote UK-based role within a collaborative and motivated team.
