Overview
Join His Majesty’s Prison and Probation Service as an Operational Support Grade (OSG) at HMP Bullingdon. This vital role contributes to the daily management of a busy prison, supporting security and operational functions in a varied, active environment combining administrative duties with physical work such as escorting vehicles and handling deliveries.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct security checks and perform searches at the prison entrance.
- Manage incoming deliveries efficiently to ensure smooth operations.
- Supervise visitors to maintain security and order.
- Monitor telephone communications and CCTV surveillance.
- Perform duties requiring physical effort including lifting, carrying, and moving throughout prison grounds.
Candidate Requirements
- Hold a full, valid UK driving licence including category D1 enabling driving of vehicles with up to 16 passenger seats, a length not exceeding 8 meters, and towing trailers up to 750kg.
- Good communication skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Sound judgment, common sense, and a collaborative team spirit.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and nights.
- Own transport is beneficial but not mandatory; careful consideration of travel arrangements to the typically rural location is essential.
- No formal educational qualifications are required for this role.
