About the Role

Our APAC Energy and Power division is actively embracing the global energy transition, focusing on sustainable progress. We invite a Power Engineer to join our High Voltage Substation team based in Auckland, New Zealand, contributing significantly to transmission and distribution projects across the APAC region.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and engineering of primary and secondary systems for transmission and distribution networks at voltage levels ranging from 22kV to 500kV.
- Work collaboratively with technical teams across various engineering disciplines including civil, structural, and geotechnical to deliver integrated project solutions.
- Assist in preparing work hour estimates and proposals under the guidance of senior engineers.
- Manage smaller-scale projects, ensuring timely and quality delivery.
- Support the development and nurturing of client relationships to foster ongoing collaborations.
- Receive mentoring and opportunities for professional growth within the specialty area.
Qualifications and Skills
- Work closely with the Lead Engineer, contributing effectively within multidisciplinary teams to ensure project objectives are met.
- Develop primary plant layouts, including determining equipment placement considering clearances, operability, and maintainability.
- Interpret and generate Electrical Single Line Diagrams (SLDs) for systems up to 220kV.
- Conduct equipment and plant rating assessments including conductors.
- Design lighting systems and prepare detailed technical reports.
- Design protection, metering, and control schemes; including protection panel layouts and control room configurations.
- Proficiency in CAD tools such as MicroStation and AutoCAD, alongside strong Excel skills.
- Effectively communicate and coordinate with colleagues and clients to ensure alignment and project success.
