Role Overview

This full-time, on-premises position in the Greater Vancouver area involves installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of residential and small commercial plumbing systems. The role covers a variety of tasks including system diagnostics, replacing or repairing toilets, faucets, dishwashers, and hot water tanks, as well as inspecting and upgrading pipes and fixtures. The plumber is also responsible for ensuring all work is up to code and adheres to safety regulations.

Main Duties

  • Install, maintain, and repair plumbing units and fixtures, including toilets, faucets, dishwashers, garburators, bidets, and water heating systems.
  • Diagnose and resolve a range of plumbing issues in homes and light commercial buildings.
  • Inspect pipes, fixtures, and connections to identify wear, leaks, or code violations.
  • Interact directly with clients to explain findings, recommend solutions, and communicate clear cost estimates based on predefined rates.
  • Keep thorough records for all service appointments and completed work.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation to fulfill the company’s 24/7 emergency service pledge.
  • Ensure all work conforms to municipal plumbing codes and safety protocols.

Candidate Profile

  • Extensive hands-on plumbing experience, including installations, troubleshooting, and system repairs.
  • Expertise in operating on different piping materials and proficient in cutting, joining, and replacing pipework.
  • Strong maintenance background in both residential and light commercial plumbing environments.
  • Professional communication skills for managing customer expectations and delivering respectful, courteous service.
  • Possession of a valid plumbing trade certificate, apprenticeship credentials, or demonstrable equivalent experience, with solid knowledge of local codes.
  • Capacity to independently navigate onsite work, manage schedules, and efficiently handle multiple calls in a day.
  • Willingness to work evenings, nights, or weekends as part of a scheduled rotation; must have a valid driver's license and dependable transportation.
  • Physical fitness for heavy lifting, working in restricted spaces, and standing for long periods.
