Plant Purchasing Officer

Overview

This role is responsible for managing the procurement process of raw materials, components, and services crucial to manufacturing operations at CROWN Arabia Can Company Ltd. The incumbent must ensure timely acquisition and maintain quality standards while optimizing costs.

Key Duties

• Identify, assess, and select suppliers based on cost, quality, reliability, and delivery performance.
• Negotiate contracts and favorable terms to maximize value from supplier agreements.
• Create and process purchase orders and requisitions adhering strictly to company policies.
• Continuously monitor supplier performance and resolve issues pertaining to quality, delivery, or expenses.
• Keep comprehensive purchasing documentation, including supplier details, pricing, and order history.
• Partner with production, quality assurance, and inventory teams to forecast demand and optimize stock levels.
• Conduct market intelligence to discover potential suppliers and emerging industry trends.
• Address and settle discrepancies related to invoices, shipments, or product quality with suppliers.
• Ensure compliance with applicable procurement rules and internal policies.
• Participate actively in initiatives to reduce costs and improve purchasing workflows.

Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or closely related fields.
• Demonstrated experience in procurement or purchasing roles, ideally within a manufacturing setting.
• Strong negotiation capabilities and effective communication skills, both oral and written.
• Proficient with purchasing software and ERP platforms.
• Excellent analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledgeable about supplier management and inventory control concepts.
• Experience with quality standards specific to can manufacturing is advantageous.
• Fluency in English is required; Arabic language skills are a benefit.
