About Nox Metals and Role Overview
Nox Metals is pioneering a rapid and efficient supply chain for American factories, integrating software and automation to deliver metal faster than what the industry has traditionally achieved. We are currently seeking a dedicated Plant Manager to oversee our factory operations in Detroit, ensuring safety, quality, and maximum throughput across all shifts.
Key Responsibilities
- Prioritize and enforce safety protocols consistently without exceptions.
- Manage daily factory floor operations across all saws and work shifts.
- Effectively supervise and support the team of technicians.
- Demonstrate strong leadership skills to motivate and inspire employees.
- Maintain a strong focus on maximizing throughput and operational efficiency.
- Identify and eliminate production bottlenecks proactively and continuously seek new efficiency improvements.
- Ensure that every product cut meets quality specifications on the first attempt.
- Use data to inform decisions, balancing quantitative insights with practical intuition.
- Collaborate with various departments to maintain smooth flow of materials, orders, and personnel.
- Work closely with the software engineering team by providing direct insights from the factory floor so that software tools can be tailored accordingly.
Candidate Requirements
- Possess 4 to 8 years of experience managing factory floor operations or leading production teams.
- Have sharp intuition to detect issues quickly before they appear in reports.
- Strong practical math skills, including understanding yields, cycle times, capacity, and margins.
- Extensive knowledge of machinery, metal materials, and operational teams.
- Maintain urgency, organizational skills, and the ability to act swiftly.
- Exhibit a low-ego, high-initiative attitude; capable of handling significant responsibilities independently while knowing when to seek assistance.
- Be highly customer-focused, ensuring parts ship on time or understanding reasons for delays.
- Adopt a proactive mindset and never hesitate by saying "that's not my job."
Additional Information
This is a full-time, in-person position based in Detroit. The compensation range is between $90,000 and $130,000 annually.
