About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Plant Head to take charge of the manufacturing operations involving injection molded plastic parts specially designed for pharmaceutical packaging. In this role, you will oversee all facets of production, focusing on maximizing operational efficiency, ensuring product quality, and maintaining compliance with industry and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and execute strategic plans for the plant in alignment with company goals.
- Lead continuous improvement efforts to boost operational efficiency and minimize expenses.
- Cultivate a culture focused on innovation and operational excellence.
- Manage daily production activities including planning, scheduling, and execution.
- Track performance metrics and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Ensure compliance with quality management systems (such as ISO and FDA regulations).
- Implement stringent quality control to maintain consistent product standards.
- Manage inventory to optimize stock levels and reduce waste.
- Enhance production processes and maintain equipment to improve output and limit downtime.
- Lead, inspire, and develop a team of supervisors, engineers, and technicians.
- Recruit, onboard, and train a high caliber workforce.
- Promote a positive, teamwork-oriented workplace environment.
- Address operational challenges with effective leadership and guidance.
- Ensure workplace safety and adherence to all safety regulations.
- Conduct safety audits regularly and enforce corrective measures.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness and organization in the plant.
- Oversee production costs, including labor, materials, and overhead to control spending.
- Discover and implement cost-saving initiatives.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Polymer Engineering or related discipline.
- At least 10 years of experience within manufacturing environments, preferably in plastics.
- Demonstrated success managing plant operations and meeting production goals.
- In-depth knowledge of injection molding technology, equipment, and tooling.
- Experience deploying and maintaining quality management systems.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Effective problem solver and decision maker.
- Competent with ERP systems and pertinent software applications.
