Payroll Specialist

Key Responsibilities

• Offer expert advice and solutions on payroll-related issues and respond to complex queries effectively.
• Examine current payroll processes to identify opportunities for enhancement and assist in applying more efficient methodologies.
• Ensure adherence to payroll regulations, including awards, superannuation rules, tax laws, and legislative compliance.
• Work closely with payroll systems like iChris to facilitate system updates, enhancements, testing, and ensure ongoing operational effectiveness.
• Collaborate with Finance, People & Culture, and other relevant departments to investigate payroll problems, implement changes, and boost service delivery quality.
• Undertake payroll processing and routine operational duties as needed while managing continuous improvement projects.

Candidate Profile

• At least five years of comprehensive payroll experience with deep knowledge of payroll legislation, compliance, awards, and superannuation.
• Experience managing full payroll cycles and recognized as a reliable source of guidance for complex payroll matters.
• A proactive approach towards process, system, and control enhancements to prevent issues before they arise.
• Ability to juggle daily priorities alongside project-related tasks, adapting flexibly to workload changes.
• Skilled in building effective relationships across teams and explaining intricate payroll topics understandably.
