Patient Service Associate (AOFC)

Role Overview

The Patient Service Associate plays a crucial role in assisting patients and their families with various financial and administrative needs in a healthcare setting. This role entails maintaining up-to-date knowledge on healthcare financing changes, managing payment transactions accurately, and providing clear financial counselling in compliance with relevant regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Keep abreast of updates in healthcare financing schemes to effectively communicate and address queries from patients and their next-of-kin.
• Manage the opening and closing of service counters while ensuring all payment dealings adhere strictly to established procedures and guidelines.
• Offer financial counselling services to patients and their families within designated departments such as the Emergency Department, hospital wards, or the Admission Office. This includes explaining ward class charges, providing bill cost estimates, and outlining payment options in line with Private Hospitals & Medical Clinics (PHMC) Act and Regulations.
• Process requests for ward upgrades or downgrades, clearly explaining the cost differences between private and subsidised wards to assist in the proper use of government subsidies.
