Team Overview

Joining the Funds team within the Americas under Carta Law, the largest AI-native law firm for private capital, formed through the merger of Avantia Law and Carta. The team leverages AI alongside lawyers and paralegals to manage investor onboarding, transaction KYC, and high-volume legal tasks with unmatched speed and consistency. The Junior Paralegal role offers the chance to rotate across or specialize in one of three practice areas aligned with individual strengths and interests.

Key Responsibilities

• Draft initial versions of LP transfer documents, including transfer agreements, consents, and subscription agreements.
• Coordinate with transfer parties regarding processes and timelines, facilitating execution workflows.
• Collaborate closely with lawyers and senior paralegals to deliver high-quality client services in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
• Develop commercial and legal knowledge over time, with opportunities to manage client accounts and progress towards legal qualification via the SQE pathway.

Candidate Profile

• Highly motivated and eager to expand expertise in legal fields such as compliance, contracts, or fund-related practices.
• Well-organized and efficient, capable of prioritizing tasks and managing multiple deadlines while ensuring attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, providing clear, professional, and concise client interactions.
• Self-driven with the ability to initiate tasks independently and proactively identify potential issues.
• Team-oriented, able to collaborate effectively with legal professionals and client teams in a dynamic setting.
• Possession of an undergraduate Law degree or equivalent is preferred; familiarity with LP Transfer procedures is advantageous but not mandatory.

Compensation and Benefits

• Sample annual salary ranges (40 hours/week basis) by location:
  • Seattle: $72,485 - $90,640 (Hourly $34.85 - $43.58)
  • New Jersey: $64,855 - $81,099 (Hourly $31.18 - $38.99)
  • New York: $76,300 - $95,410 (Hourly $36.68 - $45.87)
