Packing Assistant / Food Pick Packer

About the Role

Feedwell is seeking dependable Packing Assistants to help prepare and pack fresh food orders at our Sydney CBD kitchen, located in Millers Point, New South Wales. This position involves neat cutting of sandwiches and wraps, orderly placement in catering boxes, and ensuring each package looks clean, consistent, and customer-ready. Accuracy and attention to detail are crucial, including verifying labels and cross-checking each order with the customer's order form before dispatch.

This is a full-time or permanent part-time position with fixed shifts, no weekend work, early starts, and finishing before lunchtime.

Work Schedule Options

• Full-time: 38.5 hours per week, Monday to Thursday from 3:00 am to 11:30 am, and Friday from 3:00 am to 10:00 am.
• Permanent part-time: 20 hours per week, with two shift choices: Option 1 – Monday to Thursday, 5:00 am to 10:00 am; Option 2 – Tuesday to Friday, 6:00 am to 11:00 am.

Key Responsibilities

• Trim sandwiches and wraps uniformly and carefully.
• Arrange food items attractively in catering boxes.
• Ensure accuracy of labels on packages.
• Pack complete customer orders precisely.
• Check orders thoroughly against order forms.
• Perform final accuracy checks before dispatch.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and food-safe work environment.
• Work efficiently without compromising quality.

Ideal Candidate Profile

• Experience in roles such as kitchen hand, food preparation assistant, QSR or fast-food team member, catering assistant, sandwich hand, food packer, warehouse packer, or fresh-food assistant in bakeries/delis/supermarkets is advantageous but not mandatory.
• Strong focus on detail and neat food presentation.
• Highly organized and able to maintain concentration during repetitive tasks.
• Comfortable working at a fast pace and standing throughout the shift.
• Ability to safely lift and handle items.
• Reliable and punctual, especially for early shift starts.
