About the Opportunity
This role offers you the chance to take a leading position as Operations Manager at the newly relaunched Payneham Memorial Swimming Centre in Adelaide. You'll join a passionate team dedicated to creating an inclusive and inviting community aquatic centre, focused on safety, skill development, and positive experiences for people of all backgrounds. With the support of established systems, you will be instrumental in shaping customer service standards, operational excellence, and the launch of innovative programs from the very beginning.

Key Responsibilities
- Supervise daily operations and maintain high standards in facility presentation, water quality, and equipment care for the aquatic and recreation areas.
- Act as a highly visible team leader on-site, interacting directly with patrons to ensure a safe, inclusive, and superior experience at the centre.
- Coach, supervise, and motivate both casual and permanent staff to uphold safety, cleanliness, and exceptional service, especially during the initial launch phase.
- Apply technical expertise in managing plant room operations, conducting water testing, upholding pool chemistry, and overseeing general facility maintenance.
- Embrace flexible work shifts, including weekends and public holidays, as required by a new facility’s needs.
Requirements
- Extensive practical knowledge of pool operations, including technical plant room tasks, water testing, and facility upkeep.
- Demonstrated track record in people management, especially within fast-paced settings.
- Enthusiastic and approachable, with an ability to foster community engagement on the pool deck.
- Strong focus on safety, compliance, and maintaining immaculate standards throughout the facility.
- Prepared to undertake flexible working hours aligned with major opening events and steady operations.
Qualifications
- Current (or ability to obtain) valid South Australian Working with Children Check (WWCC).
- Current First Aid and CPR certifications.
- Pool Operations Certificate.
- Pool Lifeguard accreditation.
