Overview
As part of a global operations network delivering millions of packages daily, this position of Operations Manager is ideal for those who are customer-oriented and eager to lead teams committed to excellence. You will supervise both salaried and hourly employees ensuring safety, quality, attendance, and operational performance standards are consistently met.
The role involves providing the necessary resources and tools to your team, applying data-driven insights to enhance productivity and efficiency, and upholding customer service by guaranteeing timely and accurate deliveries.
The operational process comprises three phases: the First Mile (storage and order readiness), the Middle Mile (transportation to local sites), and the Last Mile (final delivery to customers). Though each site may differ slightly in layout, the mission and customer focus remain constant.
Operational teams and sites expand annually, offering various chances for career advancement. Placement is determined by geographic preference and current hiring needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Guide, inspire, and support both hourly and salaried team members.
- Lead major projects that affect site and regional operations.
- Create and implement productivity enhancement plans by analyzing forecasts and collaborating with leadership to allocate resources efficiently.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain high standards for quality, productivity, and customer delivery commitments.
- Coordinate with departments such as Safety, Engineering, Loss Prevention, Quality Assurance, and Human Resources to meet organizational goals.
- Perform physical tasks including lifting items up to 49 pounds and frequent pushing, pulling, squatting, bending, and reaching.
- Be prepared to stand or walk up to 12 hours during shifts and work in environments with varying noise levels and temperatures, including outdoor loading zones.
- Regularly climb and descend stairs where applicable at the facility.
Basic Qualifications
- At least 3 years managing employee performance and teams.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience; alternatively, a minimum of 2 years working directly with the company as a full-time employee.
- Availability to work varying schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience of 1 year or more with performance metrics, process improvement methods, or lean management techniques.
