Overview
We are seeking an experienced Online Reputation Manager with strong expertise in the telecommunications sector to strategically manage and enhance the digital reputation of our company and its executive leaders. This role demands proficiency in monitoring online narratives, managing search engine optimization, devising content strategies, handling crisis communications, and mitigating online risks to protect and improve brand image.
Key Responsibilities
- Continuously track and analyze online discussions, reviews, and mentions about the company and executives across search engines, news, and social platforms.
- Conduct sentiment analysis and generate regular reputation scorecards assessing brand perception and comparing against telecom competitors.
- Optimize search engine results to ensure favorable content appears prominently, while suppressing negative coverage through SEO tactics.
- Create and implement content plans, including blogs, press releases, executive interviews, and industry thought leadership materials.
- Manage and update corporate and executive Wikipedia entries, ensuring factual accuracy and compliance with guidelines.
- Monitor and respond to customer reviews on platforms like Google, Trustpilot, and Glassdoor to enhance brand trust.
- Engage audiences on social media to build executive credibility and strengthen customer relationships.
- Prepare and execute crisis management strategies to handle viral negative trends or misinformation swiftly and effectively.
- Develop risk mitigation protocols addressing brand attacks, false information, and negative publicity in coordination with PR and legal teams.
- Identify and act against fake profiles, impersonations, and defamatory content related to the organization or its leaders.
- Oversee the personal branding and online presence of top executives, supporting speaking engagements and industry leadership positioning.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with marketing, PR, legal, and customer service departments, as well as external agencies, to maintain consistent and positive messaging.
- Deliver weekly and monthly ORM reports highlighting sentiment changes, media exposure, and key performance indicators like search rankings and review enhancements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or a related discipline; Master’s degree preferred.
- At least five years of professional experience in online reputation management, digital PR, or brand protection, ideally within the telecom sector.
- In-depth knowledge of SEO, content marketing strategies, digital marketing, and online reputation tools such as Brandwatch, Meltwater, or Hootsuite.
- Demonstrated ability to manage crisis communication and implement effective risk reduction measures.
- Excellent analytical capabilities coupled with strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Capacity to operate effectively under pressure and provide rapid response to reputational risks.
Preferred Expertise
- Prior experience managing both corporate and executive reputations in the telecommunications industry.
- Understanding of legal factors including defamation law, data protection, and procedures for content removal.
- Background in media relations and executing online public relations strategies.
