Non Destructive Test (NDT) Inspector Level II

Overview

Qatar Airways is seeking an experienced Non-Destructive Test (NDT) Inspector - Level II to join their NDT Shop team located in Doha. This role entails overseeing shifts of NDT Engineers, ensuring compliance with the latest maintenance standards and managing NDT equipment capabilities for the airline's fleet expansion.

Key Responsibilities

• Authorize and oversee scheduled and unscheduled NDT inspections to ensure adherence to approved maintenance data and relevant manuals.
• Lead and coordinate NDT Engineer shifts according to production schedules optimizing resource use and timely task completion.
• Keep team members updated on EN4179 standards and latest technologies through toolbox talks and facilitate requisite training.
• Manage control and compliance of tooling within the NDT Workshop following company and regulatory guidelines.
• Assist the NDT Supervisor by reviewing and updating NDT procedures per the latest EN4179 regulations.
• Plan and establish new NDT capabilities, including business case preparation, financial approvals, and equipment procurement as needed for new fleet requirements.
• Maintain qualification validity in at least five NDT methods and ensure timely renewal of authorizations.
• Ensure quality workmanship, productivity, and high standards within the NDT Workshop.
• Contribute to NDT task planning in coordination with WPCC department to meet release targets and on-time delivery (OTD) when assigned.
• Lead studies and research to introduce new NDT capabilities, reporting findings to Department Manager if tasked with capability duties.
• Perform additional responsibilities as directed by management.

Qualifications and Skills

• Minimum education: High School/Vocational Diploma with 5+ years of relevant experience or Bachelor’s Degree with at least 4 years of pertinent job experience.
• Relevant vocational, tertiary, or trade qualifications; Diploma in Aircraft Maintenance or higher preferred.
• Certified Level 2 in a minimum of five NDT inspection methods, with proven experience in light/heavy and workshop maintenance environments.
• Valid Level 2 NDT EN4179 or PCN (Aerospace) certifications in the following methods: Dye Penetrant, Magnetic Particle, Eddy Current, Ultrasonic, Radiography, and Thermography.
• Current company authorization documents for the aforementioned inspection methods.
