Multi Skilled Engineer

Role Overview

Meridian Business Support Limited is seeking a Multi Skilled Engineer to enhance its manufacturing operations in Doncaster. This role is ideal for experienced maintenance engineers familiar with manufacturing, production, extrusion, injection moulding, or automated systems seeking a sustained engineering career.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute reactive maintenance to minimize equipment downtime and sustain production output.
• Carry out scheduled preventative maintenance across machinery and manufacturing equipment.
• Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults using proficient troubleshooting methods.
• Contribute to continuous improvement projects aimed at boosting equipment reliability and operational efficiency.
• Perform root cause analysis and apply corrective measures to eliminate recurring problems.
• Maintain accurate maintenance logs and comprehensive engineering documentation.
• Promote safe working procedures compliant with company policies and legislation.
• Assist with engineering projects and machinery upgrades throughout the facility.
• Support Lead Engineers in workplace organization and adherence to engineering standards.
• Mentor apprentices within the maintenance team.
• Participate in daily engineering meetings, weekly root cause analysis reviews, and monthly energy management meetings.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a qualified engineer, preferably with a mechanical focus within manufacturing environments.
• Technical expertise relating to automated assembly, extrusion, or injection moulding systems.
• Strong communication and effective problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent organization skills with capability to prioritize tasks efficiently.
• Demonstrated proactive attitude towards continuous improvement and engineering best practices.

Qualifications

• Essential: ONC qualification and/or apprenticeship training in engineering.
• Desirable: HNC qualification in an engineering discipline.

Shift Pattern

• Operates on a three-week rotating cycle of 12-hour day and night shifts.
• Week 1: Monday and Tuesday - day shifts; Thursday and Friday - night shifts.
• Week 2: Wednesday to Friday - day shifts.
• Week 3: Monday to Wednesday - night shifts.
