Overview

The Mining & Minerals Consultant plays a pivotal role in delivering expert mining knowledge to support business growth, solution creation, client interactions, and digital innovation efforts. This position offers strategic advice to clients and internal teams on mining processes, industry-leading practices, and technology adoption spanning the entire mining lifecycle, including areas like exploration, mine design, extraction, mineral treatment, asset oversight, and tailings control.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as a subject matter expert on mining and minerals operations to aid customer engagements and foster digital transformation initiatives across the mining value chain.
• Guide customers on operational challenges, improvement opportunities, and digital technology applications aimed at boosting productivity, safety, sustainability, and overall operations.
• Support business development and presales efforts by contributing mining expertise during client meetings, workshops, solution planning, and proposal creation.
• Translate business needs into actionable digital and industrial technology solutions to shape strategic opportunities.
• Collaborate with architects and presales teams to craft customer-centric solutions aligned with operational and business goals.
• Create use cases specific to the industry focusing on operational excellence, analytics, predictive maintenance, autonomous functioning, asset reliability, digital twins, sustainability, and asset management.
• Offer expert advice during solution development to ensure alignment with mining operations and client expectations.
• Contribute insights towards evolving Mining & Minerals digital offerings by incorporating industry knowledge and client feedback.
• Analyze emerging mining digital trends and technologies such as artificial intelligence, IoT, autonomous mining, OT/IT integration, advanced analytics, and remote operations, advising on their integration into solutions.
• Participate actively in client workshops, assessments, and maturity evaluations to detect business opportunities and transformational priorities.
• Prepare industry presentations, white papers, reference architectures, and thought leadership content to enhance market positioning.
• Represent the organization at conferences, forums, client events, and ecosystem activities as the domain expert in mining and minerals.
• Establish trusted relationships with technical and operational client stakeholders by providing reputable industry advice and consultancy.
• Work closely with product management, engineering, delivery, partnerships, and technology teams to embed mining industry needs into product and solution development.
• Assist implementation teams by acting as the mining domain expert during delivery, validation, and adoption phases.
• Promote internal knowledge sharing about mining industry practices and lessons learned across cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering, Mineral Processing, Industrial Engineering, Engineering, Business Administration, or related fields.
• Preferably hold a Master's degree in Business Administration, Mining, Technology Management, or similar disciplines.
• 12 to 16 years' experience in mining, resources, industrial technology, or related sectors with strong background in mining domain expertise, consulting, or technical advisory.
• Proven record supporting digital transformation, operational technology, software, industrial automation, or digital platform projects in the mining industry.
• Experience managing complex customer engagements including solution development, consulting, or technical presales for mining entities.
• Sound knowledge of mining business processes and operational challenges in asset-intensive settings.
• Expertise across mining operations, mineral processing, asset-heavy industries, and mining value chain digital transformation.
• Understanding of industrial technologies, operational technology landscapes, enterprise platforms, and emerging digital solutions.
• Strong consulting, analytical, and problem-solving skills enabling translation of operational difficulties into practical digital solutions.
• Business savvy with the capacity to align technological solutions with customer objectives.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and facilitation abilities to engage both technical and business audiences effectively.
• Skilled stakeholder management and relationship building with client organizations and ecosystem partners.
