Job Overview
We are seeking full-time and part-time Medication Technicians to join Avamere at Mountain Ridge, located at 1885 East Skyline Dr., South Ogden, UT 84403. This role involves administering medications and providing hands-on care to residents in a supportive environment.
Working Hours and Compensation
Shift options include Day (6:00 AM to 2:00 PM) and Evening (2:00 PM to 10:00 PM) schedules. Compensation ranges between $17 and $18 per hour, depending on experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer prescribed medications safely and efficiently under the supervision of a licensed nurse, following physician instructions and facility protocols.
- Ensure accurate and timely medication delivery.
- Document medication administration details in residents' records.
- Coordinate with pharmacy or families to ensure timely medication refills.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of medication carts and storage areas.
- Observe and report any medication side effects to the Director of Health Services.
- Provide detailed shift reports including information on medication changes.
- Follow personalized care plans linked to medication administration based on thorough resident assessments.
- Support residents with medical appointments, liaise with healthcare providers, and advocate on their behalf.
- Monitor residents for health changes, communicate concerns to medical personnel, and check vital signs.
- Record updates on residents’ conditions, personal requirements, and external communications in electronic medical records.
- Complete incident and accident documentation promptly and in compliance with policies.
- Perform nursing duties delegated by the Registered Nurse (RN).
- Engage in in-service training sessions as assigned.
- Report resident condition changes promptly to supervision.
- Execute all assigned duties efficiently and cooperatively in a professional manner.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of residents under supervision.
- Collaborate effectively with residents, family members, healthcare staff, and external agencies.
- Assist new employees in understanding and adhering to facility policies.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding resident and facility information.
- Perform additional tasks as directed by supervisors.
Essential Qualifications and Skills
- Active Medication Aide/Technician certification issued by the State of Utah, or at least one year of relevant experience.
- Experience working as a Medication Tech in Memory Care or Assisted Living settings preferred.
- Capability to acquire and retain CPR/First Aid certification during employment.
- Ability to obtain a Food Handler's Card.
- Familiarity with electronic medical records documentation.
- Minimum age of 18 years.
- Approachable, attentive, and professional attitude with residents and guests.
