Role Overview
The Marketing Manager/Lead is Hampr’s inaugural marketing leadership hire, tasked with establishing and leading a robust marketing division. This role is a blend of strategic leadership and hands-on execution, involving directing paid advertising and SEO activities internally, managing a direct report (Brand & Content Specialist), and coordinating external marketing vendors when required. Reporting to the Sales Manager and Managing Director, this position collaborates closely with sales and founders to drive lead generation and revenue growth.
Primary Responsibilities
- Develop and refine marketing strategies in partnership with company leadership to meet business growth and sales objectives.
- Own and manage the comprehensive marketing plan encompassing brand, demand generation, content, public relations, partnerships, and budgeting while monitoring ROI.
- Identify strategic market segments, set performance KPIs, and vigilantly manage budget allocations.
- Continuously evolve brand positioning and identity in line with market expansion efforts.
- Monitor competitor movements and market trends to uncover opportunities or threats.
- Lead paid media campaigns including Google Ads and ChatGPT Ads, handling budget, targeting, bidding, and conversion measurement.
- Steer SEO strategy covering technical SEO, on-page optimization, and content-driven keyword targeting, directing the Brand & Content Specialist's SEO content creation.
- Collaborate with Sales to optimize the inbound marketing funnel, defining and measuring lead quality (MQL/SQL) and addressing conversion bottlenecks.
- Provide marketing support and insights to empower the sales team.
- Manage and coach the Brand & Content Specialist by setting priorities, sprint plans, and standards.
- Serve as the primary prioritization contact for marketing requests from Product, Partnerships, Events, and Growth teams.
- Partner with Product to develop messaging and positioning for new features.
- Ensure brand consistency across all marketing content, campaigns, and creative materials, providing final approval on major initiatives.
- Build and maintain dashboards tracking paid media, SEO, funnel effectiveness, and content performance; prepare comprehensive updates for leadership and board including OKR progress.
- Utilize AI tools like Claude, ChatGPT, Midjourney, Descript, Make.com, and Zapier to enhance efficiency and output quality in marketing workflows.
Candidate Profile
- Minimum 8 years of marketing experience, preferably within B2B, marketplace, or SaaS sectors.
- Proven expertise in managing paid media campaigns with direct responsibility for budgets.
- Experience managing external marketing agencies and leading or mentoring marketing staff.
- Capable of establishing marketing functions with limited infrastructure.
- Strong data analysis skills with proficiency in Google Analytics, SEMrush, AHREFs, and ad dashboard reporting.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills, working closely with sales, product, and partnerships teams.
- High proficiency and active use of AI technologies integrated into marketing practices.
