Role Overview
The Market Development Representative is tasked with generating new business opportunities primarily through outbound calls and targeted email outreach. Approximately 80% of the role involves proactive phone engagement to prospect new clients. The position includes hands-on training focused on strategic sales techniques and researching targeted accounts. This role reports directly to the Manager of Market Development Representatives and offers significant exposure to the fast-growing SaaS sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct outbound calls to prospects within defined core vertical markets to provide tailored business solutions addressing process challenges.
- Coordinate and schedule meetings between potential clients and Account Executives across SMB, Mid-Market, or Enterprise segments.
- Utilize CRM tools strategically to document interactions and uncover additional sales prospects within the assigned territory.
- Collaborate with the marketing department to develop email and LinkedIn campaigns aimed at enhancing brand visibility and personal outreach effectiveness.
Work Arrangement
This position follows a hybrid work model, requiring employees to split their time between working remotely and from the office. Attendance in the office is expected at least two days weekly, with specific schedules varying by team. Docusign reserves the right to adjust job designations (In Office, Hybrid, Remote) based on business needs and legal requirements.
Qualification Requirements
Basic qualifications include a BA/BS degree or an equivalent professional background and a minimum of two years' experience in outbound sales. Preferred qualifications consist of prior SaaS industry experience, excellent communication abilities, strong motivation and resilience, humility, capability to forge meaningful business relationships, and a natural curiosity to gather critical information and develop actionable strategies to align business challenges with appropriate solutions.
