Role Overview

The Manager/Senior Manager of Strategic Communications is tasked with leading the creation and execution of comprehensive communications plans to enhance WWF-Singapore's reputation, influence, and impact regionally and locally. This position involves crafting engaging narratives, boosting thought leadership, championing key initiatives, and strengthening engagement with government bodies, corporate partners, and the public. Acting as a trusted communications advisor to leadership and internal teams, the role ensures messaging is strategic, consistent, and aligned with WWF's mission, organisational goals, and global branding.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and execute integrated communication strategies that reflect WWF-Singapore’s priorities.
  • Transform complex environmental and sustainability topics into clear, credible messages for varied audiences.
  • Lead media relations efforts and create top-quality external content such as press releases, opinion pieces, key messaging, and leadership profiles.
  • Spot opportunities to position WWF-Singapore and its leaders as authoritative voices on climate, nature, and sustainable finance.
  • Offer strategic communication advice during key government, corporate, and multi-stakeholder interactions and announcements.
  • Proactively manage reputational risks and sensitive matters, leading crisis communication responses as needed.

  • Collaborate with the WWF network and internal teams (Conservation, Carbon Finance, Partnerships, Content & Engagement) to synchronize communication efforts with programme priorities.
  • Oversee communications procurement and vendor relationships, maintaining budget control and compliance with organisational policies.
  • Monitor and assess communications effectiveness concerning reach, engagement, and contribution to organisational goals.
  • Support reporting of communication outcomes for diverse stakeholders.
  • Experience in B2B social media is a plus, working alongside Content & Engagement teams.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or related discipline.
  • 6 to 10 years of relevant experience in strategic communications, public affairs, media relations, or corporate communications, ideally within sustainability, climate, or conservation sectors.
  • Proven ability to develop and deliver integrated communication strategies across earned, owned, and digital channels, including media relations, stakeholder communication, social media, and content creation. Familiarity with visual content production is beneficial.
  • Exceptional writing and editorial skills with experience producing high-quality materials such as press releases, op-eds, reports, speeches, and leadership communications.
  • Experience collaborating with government agencies, corporates, industry associations, or multi-stakeholder partnerships valued.
