About the Role

This opportunity is offered by a partner firm seeking a Manager or Senior Manager specializing in Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) based in Canada. Key Responsibilities

• Take ownership and advance financial planning and analysis workflows, covering forecasting, budgeting, long-term planning, and scenario evaluation.
• Design and uphold intricate driver-based financial models that facilitate executive strategic choices and performance investigations.
• Collaborate with business and operational leaders to convert performance metrics into meaningful financial insights and actionable guidance.
• Lead monthly financial close activities alongside accounting, including variance reviews, revenue reconciliation, and management reporting.
• Develop precise and strategically aligned financial presentations for executive, investor, and board audiences.
• Contribute to corporate development efforts including valuation assessments, due diligence, and financial modeling for potential deals.
• Examine service business economics such as utilization rates, project profit margins, revenue timing, and headcount financial impacts.
• Drive the automation, standardization, and scalability of FP&A processes to enhance quality and operational efficiency.
• Provide mentorship to finance team members and support the growth and maturity of the FP&A function.

Required Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related areas; advanced credentials like MBA, CPA, or CFA are advantageous.
• Minimum of 6 years of progressive FP&A experience, or 8+ years for senior managerial roles, preferably in public companies, technology sectors, SaaS, professional services, or rapidly expanding businesses.
• Proficient in constructing financial models, forecasting, budgeting, and expert-level Excel skills.
• Experience working with financial planning software (e.g., Adaptive, Pigment, Anaplan) and business intelligence/reporting tools.
• Firm understanding of GAAP, revenue recognition standards, and financial reporting obligations for public companies.
• Analytical experience with pricing strategies, margin analysis, business performance, and operational economics.
• Proven ability to manage finance processes end-to-end, with keen attention to detail combined with strategic foresight.
• Excellent communication capabilities to simplify complex financial data for executive and non-financial stakeholders.
• Knowledge of M&A, corporate development, private equity environments, or high-growth contexts is highly beneficial.
• A proactive, hands-on mindset to develop, optimize, and scale financial operations in a fast-paced environment.

Compensation and Benefits

• Annual salary range between CAD 190,000 and 225,000, commensurate with skills and background.
