The Manager, Safe Fleet Process Owner, positioned in Cork, Ireland, will oversee global fleet and road safety programs to ensure compliance and mitigate risks worldwide, supporting business goals through effective transportation safety management.

Primary Responsibilities

• Develop, establish, and update global policies, procedures, and standards related to fleet and road safety, dedicating 30% of effort.
• Lead investigations into fleet and road safety incidents, including root cause analysis and implementation of corrective actions (20%).
• Examine fleet safety data and key performance indicators, reporting trends and recommending enhancements to senior management (15%).
• Oversee driver training, qualifications, and promote safety awareness programs across all regions (15%).
• Ensure compliance with regional, local, and global transportation regulations (10%).
• Partner with procurement, operations, and HR to manage safe vehicle selection, maintenance, and driver handling (5%).
• Contribute to sustainability efforts related to fleet operations, such as emission reductions and eco-driving strategies (5%).
• Participate in environmental health, safety, and sustainability audits and assessments.
• Provide training and mentorship to regional fleet specialists and commercial teams.
• Coordinate the development and delivery of road safety training modules alongside regional specialists.
• Support crisis management and emergency response related to fleet incidents.
• Represent the company in external fleet safety forums and industry organizations.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Engineering, Transportation, or a related discipline.
• 6 to 8+ years of experience in fleet or road safety management or environmental health and safety roles.
• Expert knowledge of applicable fleet safety regulations and standards.
• Proficient in conducting incident investigations and corrective measures.
• Strong analytical capabilities, including data management and trend analysis.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to engage multiple stakeholders.
• Experience working effectively in cross-regional, cross-sector, and cross-functional teams.
• Valid driver’s license with a good driving history.

Preferred Qualifications and Skills

• Master’s degree in a relevant field.
• Experience managing global fleet safety programs.
• Familiarity with sustainability initiatives, particularly regarding emissions reduction.
• Certifications related to road safety or fleet management (e.g., CSP, CSM, Fleet Safety Certification).

Travel and Other Details

• Travel expected between 20-30%, including domestic and international site visits, audits, and training.
• People management experience is not required for this role.

Compensation and Benefits

The anticipated annual base salary range for this position is €70,100 to €121,210, with additional performance-based bonuses or commissions. Additional Information

The Orthopaedics business of Johnson & Johnson is planned to be separated into a standalone company operating as DePuy Synthes within the next 18-24 months, contingent on legal and regulatory approvals. Employees accepting this role may transition to DePuy Synthes under their employment terms post-separation.
