Maintenance Technician

Overview

Le Méridien Hotels & Resorts in Lusail, Qatar, is looking for a Maintenance Technician to join their engineering and facilities team. This full-time, onsite non-management position involves addressing repair requests, conducting preventive maintenance, and ensuring the upkeep of hotel equipment and facilities to provide guests with a pleasant experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Respond promptly to clients' repair requests and communicate effectively to resolve maintenance issues.
• Perform preventive maintenance on kitchen tools, mechanical equipment in guest rooms, including cleaning and lubrication.
• Visually inspect equipment, transport tools and radios as needed.
• Identify and operate all equipment shut-off valves and utility service handles in buildings.
• Maintain required maintenance inventory and order necessary parts and supplies.
• Communicate daily activities and any issues to other teams using approved communication standards and programs.
• Possess or develop basic knowledge in areas such as air conditioning and refrigeration, electrical systems, mechanical and plumbing repairs, pneumatic and electronic controls, carpentry and finishing, kitchen hardware, vehicles, energy conservation, and building systems.
• Perform surface preparation, painting, minor drywall and woodwork repairs, and replacement of light bulbs and air conditioner filters.
• Troubleshoot and repair basic plumbing (e.g., unclog toilets and drains), electrical components including lamps, switches, plugs, vacuum cleaners, internet devices, and program televisions.
• Follow lockout/tagout procedures before maintenance work.
• Conduct indoor and outdoor landscaping and irrigation repairs.
• Use basic computer skills to input air handling schedules and temperature adjustments.
• Adhere to company policies, report unsafe conditions, complete safety training, and store flammable materials safely.
• Maintain a clean and professional appearance, respect confidentiality, and safeguard company property.
• Greet and assist guests following company standards, including supporting disabled guests, and delivering exceptional customer service.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues using clear and polite communication, and support team goals.
• Handle physical tasks such as lifting objects up to 50 pounds independently or heavier with assistance, climbing stairs and ladders, reaching and bending.
• Access work-related information via computers and perform other reasonable job duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience: Prior general maintenance experience including surface preparation and painting is desirable; hotel engineering or maintenance experience is a plus.
• Certification: Valid driver’s license required.
• No supervisory experience required.
