About the Role
Join Mackay Regional Council as a Library Services Trainee and become part of a dynamic community hub that fosters learning, creativity, and social connection. Beyond managing diverse collections including books, digital assets, and multimedia, you will support a variety of programs and events designed to engage the community.
Location
Dudley Denney City Library, Mackay, Queensland, Australia.
Program Details and Qualification
This opportunity is an 18-month traineeship culminating in a Certificate IV in Library and Information Services. It is tailored for school leavers, newcomers to the field, or individuals seeking a career shift. Specific eligibility applies if you hold prior qualifications in this domain.

Key Requirements
- Outgoing and enthusiastic personality.

- Interest in both front-of-house and operational library tasks such as customer interaction, membership management, cataloguing, community programming, and technical assistance.
- Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
- Commitment to delivering excellent service to both internal teams and external patrons.
- Team-oriented with the capacity to build and maintain positive relationships.
- Possession of or willingness to obtain a Working with Children Blue Card (mandatory per Queensland legislation prior to employment).
- Completion of Year 10 education is preferred but not mandatory.

Additional Information
