Role Overview
The Lead Generator is responsible for achieving sales targets by proactively marketing Absa’s banking products, particularly Asset Based Finance, while delivering outstanding service to retail customers.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Drive superior sales outcomes by understanding customer needs and promoting Asset Based Finance products alongside other Absa offerings.
- Provide hands-on sales support including identifying quality leads, following up effectively, converting leads into sales, and participating in related product campaigns.
- Set, pursue, and surpass sales goals during specific campaigns and track sales performance metrics for managerial review.
- Manage ABF product sales and channel targets to fulfill direct sales objectives.
- Refer complex product queries to Business Development Managers while maintaining direct customer communication.
- Assist customers in completing account opening documents and coordinate submission processes ensuring proper review.
- Perform financial analyses and review customer statements for ABF eligibility; communicate clearly if criteria are unmet and report denials to management daily.
- Contact customers post-account opening to provide branch and contact information.
Additional customer service responsibilities include:
- Handling inquiries and complaints related to Asset Based Finance promptly, escalating unresolved issues to management when necessary.
- Collaborating with internal teams for swift resolution of concerns.
- Informing customers about loan approvals and encouraging timely loan utilization.
Operational Compliance and Risk Management
- Ensure all tasks adhere strictly to regulatory standards, the Enterprise-Wide Risk Management Framework, and internal policies.
- Maintain accuracy and completeness of all customer accounts, loan documents, and related paperwork, remaining personally accountable.
- Excel in operational discipline to achieve audit excellence.
- Complete account opening processes fully compliant with KYC and anti-money laundering rules, escalating delays or issues promptly.
- Follow health and safety protocols and safeguard premises security as part of risk controls.
Team Contribution and Personal Growth
- Share expertise with fellow Lead Generators and provide backup support during increased workload or absences.
- Act as Line Manager’s deputy when required.
- Collaborate with the Sales Manager to establish and pursue annual performance and sales targets.
- Engage proactively in personal development activities including training programs.
Educational Qualifications
Applicants must hold a Further Education and Training Certificate (FETC) in Business, Commerce, or Management Studies.
