Job description

Overview

This is a 12-month maximum contract opportunity located in Sydney or Melbourne, focused on transforming financial operations for improved efficiency and governance. As a Lead Business Analyst, you will lead efforts to analyse, map, and redesign workflows related to pricing, billing, and work-in-progress (WIP) management. Your work will strengthen controls, uncover automation prospects, and streamline financial processes end-to-end across the client engagement lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Steer discovery and in-depth process mapping across pricing, job setup, WIP handling, and billing to identify inefficiencies, controls gaps, and risks.
  • Evaluate current financial operation workflows, controls, data flows, and stakeholder interactions to create future-state operating models and process designs.
  • Collaborate with diverse teams to gather, validate, and document business, functional, and reporting requirements supporting financial transformation and elevated risk management.
  • Design enhanced customer journeys, process maps, operating procedures, control frameworks, and service models aimed at efficiency improvements, stronger governance, and automation enablement.
  • Diagnose pain points and variations in financial operations processes, offering strategic recommendations for better commercial outcomes, operational effectiveness, and user experience.
  • Prepare comprehensive business analysis documentation including impact assessments and implementation guidance to ensure cohesive transformation delivery across all stages.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Extensive expertise in process mapping and workflow redesign.
  • Proven capability delivering complex organizational change and facilitating adoption at scale.
  • Skilled at engaging senior leadership and establishing trusted advisory relationships.
  • Preferred knowledge of enterprise finance and reporting tools (such as pricing, revenue management, billing, invoicing systems, and PowerBI) with an ability to evaluate system impacts and dependencies.
