Laboratory Technician

Role Overview

This unique opportunity invites you to join Haymes Paint's Laboratory Team as we expand to meet increasing demand. As a Laboratory Technician, you will play a vital part in preparing and dispatching color samples that inspire customer projects, alongside supporting technical color processes across our operations. Working hands-on with color matching, product assessment, and various laboratory duties, you will collaborate closely with the Research and Development team in a dynamic and supportive setting where safety, quality, and teamwork are prioritized.

Key Responsibilities

• Contribute to the creation and testing of innovative products.
• Perform laboratory experiments and analyses to back product development efforts.
• Assist in the qualification of raw materials to maintain steady production supply.
• Keep detailed laboratory records and maintain documentation accurately.
• Promptly investigate and address product complaints within designated time frames.
• Provide technical insights and test results to internal teams.
• Support Quality Control operations as needed.
• Collaborate with manufacturing personnel to solve production challenges and reduce the occurrence of defective batches.
• Help maintain laboratory databases, systems, product formulations, and Bills of Materials.
• Support accreditation activities and participate in proficiency testing aligned with NATA standards.
• Ensure laboratory procedures and documentation uphold high consistency and accuracy.

Candidate Profile

• Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Science or related fields, with Chemistry advantaged but not mandatory.
• Prior lab experience, particularly in coatings or chemical sectors, is valued.
• Strong collaboration and communication capabilities within team environments.
• High precision and confidence working with materials and colors.
• Capability to manage multiple assignments, prioritize tasks, and achieve deadlines effectively.
• Proficient in Microsoft and other relevant software applications.
