Role Overview
The Keyholder contributes to maintaining exceptional operational standards that enable meaningful customer engagement. They promote the best products and services to support healthy and playful pet lives. This role involves shared responsibility in driving profitability and growth as a trusted partner for pet owners. Keyholders assist in overall store operations, serve as community representatives, prioritize safety, compassion, expertise, and efficiency, and exemplify Pet Valu’s core beliefs.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate as a cashier and assist customers with purchases
- Prepare merchandise orders, handle banking activities, and complete other paperwork
- Stock small merchandise items, including pet supplies and household goods, weighing under 10 lbs, in sales areas
- Perform regular store maintenance duties such as sweeping and dusting
- Assist in unloading and stocking larger items, including pet food and supplies up to 50 lbs
- Open and close the store following established company procedures
- Delegate daily goals and tasks to Assistant Customer Experts (ACEs) when managers are absent
- Perform additional duties and tasks as assigned
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years retail or customer service experience
- Familiarity with POS systems
- Friendly and outgoing personality with strong customer service abilities
- Capability to lift 50 lbs repetitively
- Flexibility to work varied shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Reliable transportation to the store; a valid driver's license may be necessary
