About the Role
We seek an ambitious and commercially minded Junior Merchandiser passionate about leveraging data to solve challenges, influence decisions, and grow in the merchandising field. Thriving in a dynamic retail setting, you will collaborate closely with colleagues across Buying, Supply Chain, Retail, and E-commerce, gaining a comprehensive understanding of customer demand and product performance. Key Responsibilities
- Assist in developing and maintaining merchandising category plans that align with trading priorities and performance targets.
- Utilize data analysis to assess performance versus plan, identify trends, risks, and opportunities to support strategic decision-making.
- Monitor product, category, and channel sales to aid in promotion planning and markdown management.
- Support stock management activities including product intake, allocation, and replenishment to ensure availability.
- Track key performance indicators such as sell-through rates and stock coverage, providing actionable insights to optimize results.
- Work collaboratively with multiple teams including Buying, Supply Chain, Retail, and E-commerce to facilitate planning and resolve operational challenges.
- Contribute to the execution and analysis of major trading events through effective planning and monitoring.
- Maintain accurate merchandising systems and reports, supporting post-season reviews and data integrity.
Candidate Profile
- Previous merchandising experience as a Junior Merchandiser or a seasoned Assistant Merchandiser ready to progress, with strong knowledge in planning, forecasting, trading, and stock management.
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to analyze performance data, identify market trends, and provide commercially sound recommendations.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel including use of Pivot Tables and Lookup functions for data manipulation and analysis.
- A natural curiosity for commerce, eager to explore performance drivers beyond superficial numbers to uncover opportunities and potential risks.
- Effective problem-solver using good judgment when working with complex or incomplete data.
- Excellent communication skills to present insights clearly and foster robust partnerships across various business functions.
- A proactive and accountable work ethic, constantly seeking process improvements and maintaining high standards.
- Exceptional attention to detail, ensuring data accuracy in reporting, forecasting, and planning to support sound business decisions.
